So it's never clear whether the massive creatures that once roamed Adel and Euri's world really are gods, or something else entirely. But we're calling them that for lack of a better term. They far, far more powerful than organisms deemed 'gods'. Their trues names are utterly impossible to pronounce unless you are also an Old God; the names listed are simply the closest approximation non-Old Gods can say.
All Old Gods have many forms; generally, in order to strength, they go: animalistic form (resembling a normal animal), massive animalistic (think the Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus), humanesque, Lovecraftian eldritch. The last is considered the true forms of the Old Gods, and are incomprehensible to all other organisms. In best case scenarios viewing Old Gods in their true forms causes recurring nightmares. In worst case scenarios, insanity and death.
Old Gods are impossible to kill aside from the Phoenix (who reincarnates anyways). Old Gods can procreate with each other, though it doesn't occur through asexual or sexual reproduction (really, you don't want to know how eldritch horrors reproduce). Their offspring, unfortunately, is nowhere near as powerful and though they can live for hundreds of thousands of years easily (possibly longer), are mortal.
Language: Old Gods have their own language, written and spoken. Both are incredibly difficult to learn, though not impossible. However, it is only possible for non-Old Gods to understand spoken, not speak it themselves. Written is in the form of elaborate symbols that require the writer to know the entirety of what they want to say.
Example:

List of Gods
Sky
The ability of flight, allowing them to live in extremely high peaks.
Garuda - Griffin: Air.
Yhi - Phoenix: Fire/life. Has hair like this. Was the queen of all demons, referred to as Queen Alida, before being killed 600 years ago by the current King of Demons. She gave cat demons nine lives. She also created the sun from a portion of herself, so she could always be with Cerberus. This means that she is the most 'mortal' of all the Old Gods. She experiences a mortal death, and afterward her ashes return to the sun where she is reborn. Whenever she reincarnates she runs off without telling Cerberus and hides, flustered that he won't like her new appearance. She also overpowered the Lamia when she went on a rampage, causing her to reincarnate into an airheaded, more humanlike form. She has a son with Cerberus, named Nirel.
Land
Terrestrial.
Cerberus - Dog: Souls/death. Aggressive and territorial when he was younger. He resembles a canine. He and the Phoenix fell in love, and as a way of bonding exchanged powers, allowing them both to harness darkness and fire. He is utterly devoted to the Phoenix, and the two of them have the most myths and fairy tales written about them. His territory was in Dome.
Mahes - Cat: Dreams. Her territory was in Micah. She does not get along with Cerberus, and the two had constant territorial wars.
Artaius - Bear: Plants/earth.
Pandora/Toby - Lamia: Destruction. She and the mermaid were the most humanlike Old Gods. Eons ago Pandora went on a massive rampage, causing the Phoenix to make her reincarnate into a more harmless humanlike form. In this form this comes across as very ditzy, but this is due to her sealed consciousness. She has three snakes on her head that act as this seal, each with their own personality. Her territory was in Turia.
Water
Living in the oceans.
Mordred - Mermaid: Magic. Along with the Lamia, she is the most humanlike. She keeps the oceans alive.
Akupara - Turtle: Knowledge/wisdom. His territory was in Fuggum and the oceans next to it.
Abaia - Whale: Water/oceans. She is the gentlest Old God, and gets along with everyone. She is also the largest Old God. Her territory is in actuality all the oceans of the world including the deepest parts that none of the other Old Gods visit, but she only acts as a benevolent overseer and is not aggressive like other Old Gods.
Other
Kukulkan - Quetzalcoatl: Time/lightning. Considered the leader of all the Old Gods, when a leader is needed. One reason for this is his serpentine and yet winged body allows him to transcend environments.
